Wis. Teen Welcomes New Year After Heart Attack
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The new year is starting out on a high note for a Wisconsin teenager who nearly died on the slopes of Afton Alps.
Seventeen-year-old Daniel Mannon was snowboarding with his brothers Saturday afternoon, when he had a heart attack.
A former Washington County Sheriff Deputy was nearby, and with CPR and a defibrillator, was able to re start the boy's heart.
His father Rick is a pastor in the small Wisconsin town of Wilson.
"I'd like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm a pastor so I'll say it's a miracle. There were just too many coincidences for it not to be a miracle," Mannon said.
Mannon will have an implanted defibrillator put in, and doctors say he will be able to live a normal and healthy life.
