Wis. Man Arrested For 6th DWI After Crash With Tractor
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say a 38-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested for his sixth DWI on Sunday after being involved in a crash with a tractor.
The accident happened at about 3:26 p.m. Sunday in St. Croix County, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. Authorities say Joseph A. Lynum hit a tractor pulling a hay wagon with several passengers aboard. He initially stopped, but then left the scene.
Authorities later spotted his vehicle and performed a field sobriety test on him, which showed he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while operating under the influence of an intoxicant, his sixth offense. He was also charged with driving after revocation, his third offense.
He was taken to the Dunn County Jail and booked pending a bail hearing. He could face further criminal charges. No information was available on if anyone in the hay wagon was hurt in the crash.
