Wis. Lawmakers To Consider Bicycle Passing Rules
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Cars and trucks would be permitted to go around bicycles and other slow-moving vehicles in no-passing zones under a bill the state Assembly is scheduled to consider.
The bipartisan measure would permit a vehicle in a no-passing zone to pass any other vehicle, including a bicycle, that's traveling at a speed significantly slower than the normal speed of traffic.
The Assembly Committee on Transportation approved the bill on a 15-0 vote earlier this month. The full Assembly is set to take it up Tuesday.
