Wis. Construction Worker Fatality On I-94
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 34-year-old Wisconsin man died while working along Interstate 94 in Wisconsin early Monday morning, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
At 7:20 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a report of a man, later identified as Joseph C. Janisch of Ellsworth, Wis., lying on the ground unresponsive who had possibly been electrocuted on I-94 eastbound near mile post 39.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that Janisch, employed by Highway Technologies, was working on replacing guard rails when he came in contact with a piece of construction equipment that struck an overhead power line.
Janisch was taken to Mayo Hospital Menomonie where he passed away.
The incident is currently under investigation
