Winter Light Show To Sparkle At U Of Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A student-designed winter light show will sparkle at the University of Minnesota.

The show will be held during the first two weekends of December. This year's show features more than 100,000 LED lights and laser projection set to music.

The event premieres Dec. 5 with shows at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. on the Civil Engineering Building Plaza in Minneapolis. Each show lasts about 20 minutes.

Lights will surround the plaza and will be synchronized to music, some of it written and recorded by University of Minnesota students.

Features include a 22-foot lighted tree, an 8-foot 3-D snowman sign and an 8-by-6-foot lighted "M." Audience members can control the lights between shows through an interactive push button box.

The show is presented by the university's Tesla Works student group.
