Winona Man Charged For Machete Attack
WINONA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Winona man has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking another man with a machete.
Eric Albright, 22, has been charged with one count of second-degree assault and one count of terroristic threats.
The criminal complaint said the victim was at a party at a home in Winona and went to use the bathroom in the basement. Once downstairs, a man he didn't know, later identified as Albright, came out of a bedroom and told the victim to leave.
The victim told Albright he just needed to use the bathroom. Albright then allegedly went back into his bedroom, came out with a machete and charged the victim, swinging the machete toward the victim's head.
The victim tried to block the machete and was cut on the hand. Albright was then tackled and "choked out," according to the criminal complaint.
Albright was charged Monday in Winona County Court and if convicted of both counts could face up to 12 years in prison.
