Winona Art Museum Adds Seurat, Matisse
WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- Works by the French artists Seurat and Matisse are now on display in southeastern Minnesota.
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona recently unveiled its newest additions.
The Seurat piece is a small study for his masterpiece in the Chicago Art Institute, "A Sunday on La Grand Jatte."
The Matisse work is a 1917 painting of a port in France. It had been in the artist's family until it was acquired by the Winona museum.
