Winona Man Arrested After 8-Hour Standoff

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Winona police arrested a man early Friday morning after an eight-hour standoff at an apartment building.

Police were alerted Thursday at about 4 p.m. that a man, 32-year-old Lee William Arnold, was making threats with a gun.

Arnold told police when they arrived that he would have a "shootout" with them if they tried to arrest him.

Tactical officers finally rushed into the apartment with a flash-bang device shortly after midnight.

No one was hurt during the standoff.
