Window Washer Falls To His Death In St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO/AP) -- A window washer died after falling about 70 feet at a hotel in St. Cloud over the weekend.
The St. Cloud Police Department said the incident happened at the Best Western Plus Kelly Inn on 4th Avenue South at about 5 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities identified the window washer as 56-year-old Lee Teske of Mound, Minn. Reports say he was a self-employed window washer who worked alone.
Fire Battalion Chief Greg Newinski says the man was wearing a safety harness when first responders treated him Sunday evening.
Teske fell from a ladder onto a breezeway that connects the Kelly Inn to a convention center and then fell from the breezeway to the ground.
Officials from the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration were in St. Cloud Monday to investigate alongside St. Cloud Police and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
