Will Peterson Play? It's Not Something He Controls
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says he will decide Adrian Peterson's status for the opener by Saturday morning at the latest.
It's another chapter in rehab that has been teaching Peterson about what he can and can't control.
Eight months after the injury, has Peterson done what he needs to do to meet his self-imposed deadline of playing in the opener? It's not really his call.
"I got coach Frazier and the owner -- I have a lot of people calling the shots," Peterson said.
He has certainly looked the part in practice.
"Guy works hard, runs the ball hard and he's a good teammate," Jared Allen said. "I'm sure he'll be fine."
In Adrian Peterson's world, the injury was initially devastating. But in his world, the worst is in the rear-view mirror.
"I was able to see the progress that I made," he said. "That was testing my faith."
It appears Peterson thrives on a challenge and the opportunity to prove naysayers wrong.
"It's been a long journey for me and it's been tough," Peterson said. "But I've fought through tougher situations than this in my life."
