Wild Fans React To Thrilling OT Win In Playoffs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you stayed up late to watch the Minnesota Wild face the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it was well worth it.
Jared Spurgeon scored late in regulation to tie it 4-4 and send the game to overtime, and about five minutes into the extra session Nino Niederreiter scored to send the Wild to the Western Conference semifinals. Minnesota will face the Chicago Blackhawks in Game one of that series Friday night in Chicago.
Wild fans watching the game at bars in St. Paul went home very happy and excited that the team moved on in the playoffs.
"It was just very stressful. They got a goal late to send it to overtime and it was amazing. I'm pretty sure we stopped breathing for about 10 minutes there," one Wild fan said.
"Oh my gosh my heart was beating out of my chest. I couldn't really handle it. You couldn't really talk to people at certain points in the game," said another fan.

"Wild and crazy. It was very wild and very noisy," another fan said.
Game 1 against the Blackhawks is set for 8:30 p.m. Friday in Chicago. Game 2 is set for Sunday, and Game 3 will be in St. Paul on Tuesday. Expect tickets to be hard to come by, and expensive.
