What Is Closed On Veterans Day?
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – November 11 marks Veterans Day, the day dedicated to remembering, recognizing and honoring veterans from throughout America's history.
As a nationally recognized holiday there are a few places that are closed.
Local, state and federal government offices are all closed, including the Post Office. Most libraries are also closed.
Many banks will be closed as well, but some will have shortened hours at select non-traditional locations.
Parking meters in Minneapolis and St. Paul are not enforced, but the University of Minnesota and some area parks may be enforcing them.
Many places are still open.
Most malls, museums and attractions remain open Wednesday. Restaurants will also be open, a number of which are offering free meals for veterans. Veterans at can receive a free meal at AppleBees, Bar Louie, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chilis, Hell's Kitchen and more. Cinnabon is also donating $1.20 to Operation Gratitude for every CinnaPack purchased.
