Weekend Could Bring Big Snow To Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- For the last week or so, the Twin Cities has seen a series of small-dose snowfalls. This weekend might bring a change to that pattern.
WCCO meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says he's tracking a storm that could arrive in the Twin Cities on Sunday, following a mostly quiet Saturday.
Augustyniak says that while it's still a ways out, models project that along and east of the storm track should bring a wintry mix of rain and snow that may switch over to snow Sunday evening into Monday. That could make for a dicey first commute of the work week.
That track would include the Twin Cities along with points south and east.
The heaviest snow would likely fall west of the track, with potential totals of up to 12 inches. Augustyniak said those totals would more likely accumulate west and north of the Twin Cities, possibly as far as the Dakotas.
However, a number of factors could change the outcome of this particular storm track, so stay with WCCO.COM for the latest forecasts.
