Weather Blog: The Opener
This will be remembered as a windy deer hunting opener. Those who hunt in extreme northern Minnesota will have to walk through snowy fields or woods this weekend.
The temperatures will be close to average for this time of year, which is in the mid-40s around the metro. It will feel cooler however with a stiff breeze from the west. Sunday the wind will be much calmer, and it looks like we will stay dry this weekend.
You will not like the feel of things this Monday. Our zonal (west to east) flow will shift, bringing colder air down from the northwest. We will only scrape to the low 30s for highs Monday and Tuesday. And Veterans Day will feel even colder with winds blowing from the northwest at 10-20 mph. It will feel more like the teens if you are attending any outdoor services that day. Bundle up!
