Weather Blog: Let It Snow!
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We've only received a trace of snow so far in the Twin Cities. That is about 5 inches below average for this time of year. We won't gain it all back in one storm, but we will see some snow.
Here in the metro, it could start out as light rain or drizzle with a transition to snow. The heaviest band will be north of the Twin Cities.
There will be a line from Montevideo, through St. Cloud and eventually Hinckley that could see 3-6 inches of accumulation. A few of the models hint at more in some of the higher elevations.
The metro could get 1-3 inches with the higher amounts in the northern suburbs. It will also be windy causing the snow to blow and drift.
Southeastern Minnesota could get shutout with only rain.
Be careful on the roads, but enjoy our first snow if you can.
It will move east by evening leaving us with cool sunshine for Sunday (high of 28).
The snow won't stick around for long with temps warming into the upper-40s by Thanksgiving.
