Weather Blog: December Rain
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We warmed to 40 for the first time this month Monday. Not record heat by any stretch, but a good ten degrees above average for this time of year.
The warm air will stick around a few more days having a major effect on our next storm system. What once looked like a good snow-maker now looks to bring rain to much of the state.
It arrives late Tuesday and continues into Wednesday with a gradual transition to snow.
It looks like the snow will be at the tail end of the system, so the only minor accumulation is expected in far northern Minnesota.
We should have a high in the upper 30s Tuesday and Wednesday with cooler air spilling in on Thursday and Friday.
We still have a few more chances of snow before we declare this Christmas a "brown" one.
