Weather Blog: Changes, Cold Front Cometh!
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We tied a daily record high of 49 degrees in the Twin Cities Monday. The previous high mark was set back in 2002.
On Tuesday, we will take a swing at another daily record. The all-time high for January 10 is also 49 degrees (set back in 1990). We could beat that if we see enough sunshine. But there are clouds that will be advancing potentially blocking the sun and keeping the temps down a bit.
The big change arrives late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. A cold front will arrive bringing a chance of light snow (should be under one inch), stronger winds (northwest 15-25 mph) and much cooler air.
Our highs will only be in the teens Thursday with a below zero feeling all day because of the strong winds.
Things stabilize a bit with highs in the mid-20s by the weekend.
