Weather Blog: Above Freezing This Weekend And Beyond
By Chris Shaffer, WCCO-TV
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Our warmer air has arrived. No more subzero nights, no more single-digit highs and we will melt away some snow instead of adding to our snow banks.
Last year, we didn't hit 40 or warmer until March 2. We will beat that this year with a good shot of 40 by Wednesday.
We may see some flurries Saturday, but most of the snow will be limited to northern Minnesota. The main thing you will notice is highs cracking that freezing mark of 32 degrees.
There will be a good deal of clouds this weekend, but the air will continue to warm as a warm front slides over the area.
There may even be some rain showers across northern Minnesota on Sunday.
It will be our warmest Valentine's Day since 2006, and Wednesday and Thursday appear to be our warmest days.
