WCCO Viewers' Choice For Best Water Park: Cascade Bay
EAGAN, Minn. (WCCO) -- Now that it's started to warm up, a lot of us are looking for a way to cool off. That means a trip to the pool, or – even better -- the water park.
So we put it to you to help us find the best, and it's one that's celebrating its 15th summer in the Twin Cities: Cascade Bay in Eagan.
"We have slides that you go down on tubes, but then we have a couple other slides that you're just gonna go down by yourself. They're fast, they're furious and they're fun," said Juli Seydell Johnson, the director of Eagan Parks and Rec.
They've got five slides, and the green one is supposed to be the fastest.
Even if slides aren't your speed, they've got you covered.
"If you'd like to just be lazy in the sun," Johnson said, "the lazy river is a great place to be."
And if you don't want to be in the water the entire time, there's a mini golf course.
"We're just a fun place, people also tell us they like us because we're a safe place," Johnson said.
For instance, there's a station that offers complimentary sunscreen. There's also a large safety staff. On any given shift, there's about 30 people with eyes on the pool.
"We have room for 2,000 swimmers here," Johnson said. "We can have all 2,000 people in here, and you're still going to find some places to sit, you're still going to find places to splash in the water, not feel too crowded, but enjoy a great Minnesota afternoon."
