WCCO Talks Training Camp With Vikings Coach Mike Zimmer
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Training camp is well underway for the Minnesota Vikings in Mankato. The team has had three practices so far, and had their first workout in full pads on Sunday.
The Vikings will have their first night practice in full pads Monday, and it will likely be in front of a packed house at Blakeslee Stadium from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Minnesota State University, Mankato. There hasn't been a ton of big news out of the first days of training camp, other than Matt Cassel being named the No. 1 quarterback and Cordarrelle Patterson missing afternoon practices due to a foot injury.
WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen sat down with head coach Mike Zimmer to get his thoughts on the first few days of training camp, his first as a head coach. Rosen also sat down with Brian Murphy, the Vikings beat writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, to get his thoughts on the team and the season ahead.
