WCCO Radio Raises More Than $273K For Union Gospel Mission
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The team at WCCO Radio 830 AM had a record day Tuesday, raising money at the Mall of America for the Union Gospel Mission.
Last year, must more than $200,000 was raised to help provide meals for struggling families in the Twin Cities. That number was easily broken Tuesday as nearly $274,000 was raised in the all-day radiothon.
The Union Gospel Mission is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving the homeless, poor and addicted in the Twin Cities. They not only provide food to hungry families, but they also provide services to those suffering from substance abuse as well as families suffering from domestic abuse.
The organization says they can provide a meal for every $1.96 donated. It's their goal to help rebuild lives physically, emotionally, spiritually and educationally.
