Waite Park General Store Robbed For 2nd Time In Just Weeks
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Waite Park Police are looking for a person or persons responsible for robbing the same Casey's General Store within a few weeks.
Police said the latest incident happened on Tuesday around 7:46 p.m. at the store located at 561 10th Ave. S.
Officers said a man wearing a ski mask came into the store with a handgun and demanded money. The clerk gave him undisclosed amount of cash and then he left.
A similar robbery happened at the same store on Feb. 24 around 8 p.m.
The suspect in both incidents is described as being a white man, wearing a ski mask and a black leather coat. The man in the February incident was described as being in his 20s, between 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8-inches tall and 160-180 pounds. He had a hoodie pulled up, dark jeans and dark shoes.
In the latest incident the man was described as being 5-foot-9, between 175-180 pounds and wearing black pants, camo gloves, and a hooded sweatshirt under the coat.
No one was injured in either incident.
It is not clear if the same person is responsible for both robberies, but the descriptions are very similar. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Waite Park Police Department Crime Stoppers at 800‐255‐1301.
