Vikings X-Factors: Jarius Wright & Marcus Sherels
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Vikings have had a number of young players step up this season and a pair of them may play big roles on Saturday night at Lambeau Field -- Jarius Wright and Marcus Sherels.
It is starting to slow down for Wright. So, in other words, it's like last year.
"Feels like college again," he said. "Just getting a chance to get out there and be comfortable."
Wright is good enough athletically to be a factor, and working diligently enough to earn teammates' respect.
"He makes a lot of plays for us and works hard in practice every day," tackle Phil Loadholt said. "I'm impressed with how he's represented himself."
For Sherels, Saturday is about trying to slow down a Pro Bowl quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. He's quiet by nature, but a bit giddy about this week.
"It's exciting – first playoff game," he said. "I'm excited and ready to go."
He's been called upon because of the Antoine Winfield injury, and could be picked on by Rodgers this week.
And that's just what you prepare for in the NFL playoffs.
"We all know he's an elite quarterback. I just need to be ready."
