Vikings, Wilf Family Pledge $100k To Sandy Relief
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings and the team's owners pledged Friday to donate $100,000 to support recovery efforts on the East Coast, devastated by superstorm Sandy.
Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is from the affected area and said his family has seen the destruction Sandy brought first hand.
"As an organization, it is important for us to help raise awareness and support for those impacted by this disaster," he said. "Every contribution is critical to helping families and individuals in the region."
The money will go to the American Red Cross and other relief efforts in both New York and New Jersey, a press release said. The team is also encouraging Vikings fans to contribute to relief efforts online via the Red Cross' website.
