Vikings Sign FA Long Snapper Kevin McDermott
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday they've signed free agent long snapper Kevin McDermott.
McDermott, entering his fourth season out of UCLA, spent the final 10 weeks of 2014 with the Baltimore Ravens. He played in seven games before being placed on injured reserve. He started the 2014 season on the Denver Broncos practice squad.
Two years ago, McDermott played in all 16 games for the San Francisco 49ers and helped them earn a playoff berth.
McDermott was teammates in college with current Vikings punter Jeff Locke. He's expected to push Cullen Loeffler to start at long snapper.
