Vikings, Seahawks Fans Prep For Frigid Playoff Game
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings and Seahawks fans alike are bracing for Sunday's outdoor game at TCF Bank Stadium.
It's going to be one of the coldest NFL playoff games in football history. That's a big reason there are still plenty of tickets available. The Vikings had 500 left as of Saturday evening.
Fans had some fun showing our Nina Moini how they're preparing to weather the cold.
Arriving in full Seahawks gear, Seattle fans compared game plans to embrace the Minneapolis weather. One fan brought 20 pairs of hand warmers, and another dressed in several layers. But even a suitcase full of thermals couldn't prepare them for some the cold they felt when they stepped off the plane.
After the initial shock, Seahawks and Vikings fans met up downtown at 8th Street Grille to rub elbows... mostly for warmth.
One Minneapolis couple gave their gameday outfits a practice run.
"We put on all of our base layers, all of our pants layers, and then we went and stood out in Loring Park," Seahawks fan Cassie Wada said.

The Vikings are taking some steps to try to help fans stay warm. There will be free coffee beginning at 9 a.m. and they recommend fans bring a blanket and some foam to sit on.
