Vikings Report To Training Camp Thursday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota's football frenzy began Thursday as players and team officials with the Vikings reported to Mankato for training camp on Thursday.
The team will hold its first practice of the 2013 training camp on Friday. They're gearing up for their final season in the Metrodome before moving to TCF Bank Stadium for two years while a new stadium is built.
There are plenty of changes in store this year at training camp, as the team will no longer be staying in Gage Hall, which was demolished in late June. The Vikings are also welcoming three new first-round draft choices in Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes and Cordarrelle Patterson. All three of them signed their rookie contracts Thursday morning.
The Vikings also have brought in free agents Greg Jennings at wide receiver and Desmond Bishop at linebacker.
The Vikings will face the Houston Texans two weeks from Friday in their first preseason game.
