Adrian Peterson Doubtful For Sunday's Final Regular-Season Game
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Adrian Peterson has tried to play through a sprained foot and a lingering groin injury, but he is doubtful to play in Sunday's final regular-season game at home against the Detroit Lions.
Peterson is third in the league in rushing with 1,266 yards. He practiced on a limited basis this week for the Minnesota Vikings (4-10-1), who on Sunday play the final game in the Metrodome's history.
He says the groin injury is more bothersome than the foot he sprained on Dec. 8, but Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier isn't sure the league MVP has improved enough to play this week.
Peterson started last week's game but sat out much of the second half in the Vikings' 42-14 loss at Cincinnati.
