Vikings DB Cook Out 7-8 Weeks With Broken Arm
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Vikings cornerback Chris Cook will need surgery on his broken right arm and will be out seven or eight weeks.
Coach Leslie Frazier said Friday that the team is planning to place Cook on revocable injured reserve following his injury Thursday night during a loss to Tampa Bay.
Cook could be out for the remainder of the regular season. But the Vikings (5-3) are holding out hope he can return for the playoffs if they qualify.
Rookie Josh Robinson will take Cook's spot in the starting lineup. Cook has been their best player in man-to-man pass coverage, so this is big loss.
Cook was hurt helping make a tackle of running back Doug Martin early in the third quarter Thursday. Martin scored on a 64-yard pass on the next play.
