Vikings Tickets Remain: Sell Out Or TV Blackout
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) -- Fewer than 3,000 tickets remain for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Denver Broncos game coming up on Sunday. If the game does not sell out, it will not be televised locally.
The Associated Press reports since 1998 the Vikings have sold out 141 straight home games. Now with a 2-9 record, there's concern the streak could end.
Some believe the slowdown in tickets sales could be a combination of poor performance and the stadium debate.
"The Vikings are saying how inadequate the Metrodome is, I don't disagree with them," said Mike Nowakoski with Ticket King. "But, at some point fans are going to say 'if it's so inadequate why would I spend my hard earned money to go to an adequate facility?'"

Nonetheless, Nowakoski is confident fans will pick up the remaining tickets.
"I would bet my bottom dollar that the game will be on TV," said Nowakoski. "We're seeing huge demand for the Broncos game but not so much demand for the final two remaining (home) games with the Saints and Bears."
Nowakoski said a driving force behind the sale of tickets could be Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
"Let's face it he's fun to watch," said Nowakoski. "We're still selling a similar amount of tickets this year than we did last year."
The Vikings have until Thursday at noon to sell the remaining tickets to ensure the game will be televised locally.
