Vikes To Announce Decision On Tickets, Alcohol Thursday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota and the Vikings are still making the last minute preparations for hosting Monday night's game against the Bears at TCF Bank Stadium.
Sources tell WCCO-TV that the decisions on the distribution of tickets, as well as alcohol sales for the game, will be announced by the Vikings and the U of M on Thursday.
The Vikings are struggling with how to distribute tickets fairly. They said no matter what someone will be unhappy because there are simply not as many seats at TCF Stadium as the Metrodome.
U of M general council spokesperson Mark Rotenberg confirmed that the announcement will happen on Thursday.
Even though everything is going forward to get stadium ready, the NFL is moving forward with a plan B that would involve moving the game to another venue in another state. That would happen only if something happens to make it impossible to hold it at TCF Stadium.
Meanwhile, they are looking for more shovelers and tell people to just show up at 8 a.m., noon or 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
There will be free parking at Lot 37, north of Mariucci Arena. The gathering spot is outside the Lincoln County entrance to the stadium.
But leave the kids at home, you need to be at least 18 years old and you will get between $9 and $10 an hour.
