Vikes' Peterson Doesn't Practice, Expected To Play
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson remains on track to return to action this weekend despite being held out of practice for further treatment on his sprained right foot.
Peterson practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. He wasn't on the field at all Thursday. But coach Leslie Frazier said, based on what the team has seen from this week, Peterson "should be fine" to play Sunday at Cincinnati. Peterson sat out the last game against Philadelphia.
Frazier said Peterson's absence Thursday was a precaution, not because of a setback.
Tight end John Carlson had a recurrence of some concussion symptoms, though, and was also not at practice. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes has not been at practice this week, recovering from a sprained right ankle. He could participate Friday.
