Vikes 1st Round Pick Patterson: 'I Feel Like A Superhero'
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) – It was clear that the Vikings wanted wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson in a big way.
"They did, and I respect them for that," Patterson said. "I came from the restroom, I took a couple steps and I got a phone call, and it was great."
But what exactly did the Minnesota Vikings get with their pick?
"They got Cordarrelle Patterson: a freak of nature on the field. When I get the ball in my hands, I'm so explosive," he said, "I fell like a human highlight, I feel like a superhero. But, you know, I can say all those things but it's a lot of things I need to work on."
Patterson took the number 84, and it's no coincidence that it's the same number as Randy Moss.
"Randy Moss is my guy since like day one, since I got into football. I looked up to him for a long time. It's an honor to wear 84," he said.
But Moss had character issues during his time with the Vikings, and even though there's word that Patterson may have similar issues, he begs to differ.
"I feel like I'm a great role model off the field as on the field. I'm not a trouble guy, you know. I like to have fun, but I know what kind of fun I need to have. I got people looking at me, I got fans that know I'm a great guy. And I got some people that want me to do bad – but I'm not going to be that person," he said. "The haters gonna hate."
