Vigil Held For Missing Anoka Man Found In RV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As investigators try to figure out how a 22-year-old Anoka man died, the Anoka community will come together to honor his life.

The family of the man, Kevin Casserly, want to know how his body wound up in a rented RV. A bachelor party, on their way to the Kentucky Derby, found Casserly's body in a storage compartment of the rented camper.

Casserly had been missing for six months.

Early Sunday night, family and friends – include Casserly's 3-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter – honored his life at a vigil. On Sunday, his daughter said, "I love my dad very much."

Casserly's sister, Alexandria, had been leading searches for months.

"That's gonna be how his kids remember him was his laugh. He had a contagious laugh and for the good man that he was and the good man that he was trying to be," she said.

She says she doesn't know how ended up in the RV or who owned it before a group on a bachelor party found the body leaving those close to Kevin sad and confused.

Family friend Sherry Shore said, "The word bizarre is not even big enough to cover this whole thing. It's beyond bizarre."

Alexandria says her brother had battled addiction in the past, but insists he was clean and on the right path when his life ended. She says they hope to know more about how her brother's life ended after an autopsy.

"He had a tough life," she said.

She said they don't know yet how he died, how long the body had been in the RV, or who's responsible for putting it there.
