Vigil Set For Roosevelt High Shooting Victim
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A community vigil for the 16-year-old Trequan Martell Sykes is set for June 5 at the site of his murder.
Trequan was fatally shot on June 1 on the 2900 block of Bloomington Avenue South in Minneapolis. The suspected gunman is also 16 years old.
The vigil will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Those in attendance will include Trequan's family members, MADDADS of Minneapolis, City Council member Gary Schiiffs, Open Door Evangelistic World Ministries, and classmates and staff from Roosevelt High School.
Trequan's mother, Phaedra Singleton, urges everyone to respect Trequan's legacy by not seeking revenge for his murder.
