Victim ID'd In Brooklyn Center Homicide Investigation
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 47-year-old man killed inside a Brooklyn Center motel in late January has been identified.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 31, the Brooklyn Center Police Department responded to the Super 8 Motel at 6445 James Circle N. on a report of a man unconscious in a room. When officers arrived, they located an adult male who was unresponsive.
After attempting life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Through an investigation, police determined the man had suffered injuries consistent with an assault.
On Monday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Michael Ray Gentry of Bloomington, saying he died of multiple blunt force injuries. His manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
One suspect has been arrested in connection with the man's death. The suspect has not been named, but authorities said they don't believe the incident was random and they are not looking for additional suspects.
