Vegas Puts Vikings 2016 Win Total At 9.5; Bet Over Or Under?
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If Las Vegas has anything to say about it, the Green Bay Packers are the slight favorites to win the NFC North title this year.
Bovada Casino released its over/under odds Wednesday for win totals of every team in the NFL this year. Let's just say they consider it a great possibility that the Packers win at least 11 games this year.
The casino has Green Bay's over/under win total at 10.5 with a line of -165 to bet the over. So in general terms, one would have to bet $165 to win $100. On the contrary, if you were to take the under, you would have to bet $100 to win $135.
The Bovada sports book has the Vikings' win total at 9.5. If you were to take the over on that, the money line is -130. If you take the under, it's even money. So do dumb it down, you would have to bet $130 to win $100 if the Vikings won at least 10 games. If you took the under and they had nine wins or less, you double your money.
The other teams in the NFC North Division don't fare as well. The Detroit Lions are a -130 to win eight games or more and they are even money to win six or fewer. The Bears aren't much better at even money to win eight or more games and even money to win seven or fewer.
In other words, the predictions aren't much different than what most are anticipating. The NFC North will likely be between the Packers and Vikings, and now Vegas wants fans to put their money where their mouths are in this heated rivalry.
