Valentine's Flowers Violate No Contact Order
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A Sheboygan man who police say tried to strangle his wife is facing an additional charge after he was accused of sending some Valentine's Day flowers to her.
Prosecutors say the flowers violate bail conditions for Zackary Zelko, who was ordered to have no contact with his estranged wife. She contacted the county's victim-witness coordinator after receiving the flowers at her workplace Monday. An accompanying card did not include Zelko's name.
A criminal complaint says investigators went to the store where the flowers were ordered and talked with a clerk who remembered Zelko because he gave specific instructions not to include his name because of the no contact order.
In addition to charges of battery, strangulation and false imprisonment, Zelko is now facing felony bail jumping.
