Valentine's Day And Procrastination
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On Valentine's Day, love is in the air. However, there is also a bit of stress permeating the atmosphere.
A lot of women picked up a gift at least the day before, but many men were seen making their purchases in the last few hours of Valentine's Day.
However, procrastination isn't a bad thing -- at least not for certain businesses.
Lindskoog Florist, located in the downtown Minneapolis skyway, was so busy on Monday, workers sold more than 4,000 red roses. The store opened an hour earlier than normal and closed an hour later than normal.
While men procrastinated buying a gift and waited until Valentine's Day to do it, both stores expected a lot of customers the day after Valentine's Day.
There's a huge rush then, workers said, because a lot of guys forget about the love holiday. Others are out of town and must make it up to their sweetie the next day.
