US Sens From ND, MN Place Friend Wager On Game
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota Republican U.S. Sen. John Hoeven and Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar have something more than state pride riding on the outcome of the Saturday matchup between the North Dakota State and University of Minnesota football teams.
The Senate colleagues have placed a friendly wager on the game.
If the Bison win, Klobuchar will provide Hoeven with some of her "Taconite Tater Tot Hotdish." If the Gophers prevail, Hoeven will send Klobuchar some North Dakota bison steaks.
Klobuchar says that when Hoeven offered bison she initially thought of offering a "cute little" gopher -- but Hoeven then informed her that people shoot gophers in North Dakota.
