Free Public Tours Set For U.S. Bank Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you're wondering what the inside of U.S. Bank Stadium looks like, here is your chance to find out.

The Minnesota Sports Authority is offering free tickets, starting Friday. And for the first time, thousands of curious fans can get a look inside -- for free.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority is opening the stadium to the public Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 for free self-guided tours. Fans can download up to six free tickets at ticketmaster.com and choose the time they'd like to take the tour.

"We hope to get over 100,000 people to come," Michele Kelm-Helgen, chair of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, said. "We can accommodate thousands of people.  And we hope people come from all over Minnesota to see the building."

Fans will be able to circle the lower and upper concourses, and view a suite on the third level. Outside events will include family friendly activities on a newly-opened stadium plaza and city park.

Tickets are available starting at 10 a.m. Friday.
