Uptown Restaurant Comes To The Aid Of Fire Victims
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Neighbors are coming to the rescue after a devastating fire tore through a 100-year-old condo building.
Amore Victoria Restaurant is located near the Condominium that was destroyed by fire Friday. Many of the residents were regulars at the restaurant, so the owners decided to help them, by organizing a fundraiser for the victims.
Michael Gustafson is the General Manager of the establishment. He said they even want to offer the victims a free meal.
"For the next week or so, anyone who lived in that building will be allowed eat for free," Gustafson said.

On Jan. 9, 2013, there will be a fundraiser at the restaurant, featuring a silent auction, and donations are being accepted for the victims for their immediate needs.
"We kind of got to know each other and got to know the community near us, and we were in a good place to do this," said Gustafson.
They are collecting items like clothing and other necessities, but Gustafson says gift cards to places like Target are preferred because then the victims can get what they need.
