Unusual Tuesday NFL Game Earns Strong Ratings
NEW YORK (AP) -- The unfamiliar sight of the NFL's first Tuesday game since 1946 still drew plenty of television viewers.
The Minnesota Vikings' 24-14 upset of the Philadelphia Eagles, postponed from Sunday night because of a blizzard, drew a 15.2 overnight rating and 24 share on NBC. The network said Wednesday that tied for the fifth-highest rating for a "Sunday Night Football" game this season.
It's up 31 percent over last year's Week 16 game, the Dallas Cowboys' 17-0 win over the Washington Redskins.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time. Overnight ratings measure the country's largest markets.
