Unseasonably Warm #Top10WxDay Draws Droves Of Minnesotans Outdoors
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Plenty of sunshine and near record warmth can only mean one thing in November: WCCO's first Top 10 Weather Day of the fall and winter season.
All across Minnesota and western Wisconsin, people were finding plenty to do outdoors.
Today, you couldn't keep golfers away from Braemar Golf Course in Edina. Manager Joe Abood says the facility is on course to see a profit for the first time in six years, thanks to the warm weather.
"We were fortunate," he said. "We had a good October, and we're starting off with a good November. We're just excited to get any golfers out here this time of year."
But for those who still had to work, being outside felt like a bonus. Jimmy Meyers, who was pouring concrete for a project on the course, says he's been working outside for 12 years. He says November is typically his busiest month as people try to finish up projects before the first snowfall.

"Normally, it's very busy and very cold, so this is beautiful," he said.
So far, he says the warmth has made work move faster, and easier.
"It certainly helps them take on another job or two -- the contractors," he said.
While this is the first #Top10WxDay of the winter cycle, it feels like winter is still months away. Some local restaurants, like Redstone in Eden Prairie, still have their patios open -- an unusual move for this time of year.
"It is fabulous," Barb Stewart said at the restaurant. "We are just so excited to enjoy this weather this time of year."
Clear skies and sunshine made it easy to get moving outside.
"I have other things I should be doing," Judy Nelson said, "but it's hard to stay in when it's like this in Minnesota. You've got to get out when the sun is shining."
