U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia To Give Lecture In Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — For a second straight year, University of Minnesota Law School students have an audience with a U.S. Supreme Court justice.
This time it's Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, who is delivering a lecture and taking questions Tuesday on the school's Minneapolis campus. Scalia is part of the conservative wing of the nine-member court. Last year, the school's lecture series welcomed liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Scalia is 79 and recently began his 30th year on the high court, having taken his seat in September 1986.
Scalia is slated to talk about his judicial philosophy before fielding questions from audience members. Last year's event produced some lighter moments from Ginsberg, including her plug of a comic opera about her close relationship with Scalia.
The Supreme Court opened its new term this month.
