U Of M Students Talk Politics With Voters
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Students at the University of Minnesota teamed up with voters to talk politics Saturday.
It's part of the 2016 Twin Cities Election Forum.
Eighteen students and 60 voters from seven different counties broke down into groups to discuss key issues in the presidential election.
Political science professor Dan Myers says the goal is to bring both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton supporters together to have a conversation.
"I think people want some way to engage with this campaign that isn't the normal attack ads or watching the debates or those sort of more vitriolic ways of engaging with politics," he said.
Myers says the 60 voters were chosen from more than 240 people who applied to participate.
