Twitter, Minnesotans React To House Approving Gay Marriage
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 1,000 people showed up at the state Capitol and some showed up as early as 7:30 a.m.
"This is a historic day for Minnesota -- I'm so excited to be here," Joel Abrahamson said. "I'm so proud of our state, and we're one step closer.
"I'm just here because it's wrong, it's just not right," Jessica Aleman said.
For one couple, laughter came with tears.
"I couldn't be happier, I never thought we'd see this day," Lori Lippart said. "We've been together 31 years."
And for those who wanted a different outcome, Thursday evening became silent.
"I feel sorry for our world, but the world has turned to a place that wants immediate gratification," Julie Burt said. "It breaks my heart for my children and my grandchildren."
Here is a collection of Twitter reactions to the Minnesota House of Representatives approving a bill to make gay marriage legal in Minnesota.
