Twins Blog: TwinsFest To Sell Memorabilia From Soon-To-Be-Deflated Dome
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As the Metrodome prepares to be deflated, a lot of people are reflecting back on their time spent inside the stadium. The Dome was home to the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
Even though they moved out four years ago, the Twins have cleaned out their Target Field closets and found lots of unique memorabilia. Many items came from their hold home, the Metrodome.
The Yard Sale, as they're calling it, will be open during TwinsFest next weekend, Jan. 24-26 at Target Field. The store is located on the Legends Club level of the ballpark.
Some of the Metrodome-era items include Kirby Puckett Place street signs, Doug Mientkiewicz thermos, coffee mugs, posters, and game-used hats and jerseys.
There are also dozens of bobble heads, new and game-used baseball bats, autographed baseballs, team issued jerseys, and promotional items.
The pricing is as follows:
-- $1-$5: promotional items, including pins, t-shirts, hats and fishing lures
-- $10-$25: bobble heads and autographed baseballs
-- $50-$75: Autographed and non-authenticated game used bats
-- $50-and up: spring training, minor league and team issued jerseys.
Other unique items include catcher's gear, game-used items, posters and artwork, team publications, used bases, and even wood from the original visiting benches at Target Field.
The Twins will accept cash or credit cards.
TwinsFest is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but tickets for Saturday have already sold out. Money from the event will go to the Twins Community Fund.
