Twins To Unveil Kent Hrbek Statue On April 14
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins will add Kent Hrbek to their collection of bronzed former players outside Target Field with a pregame ceremony next weekend.
The Twins announced Wednesday they'll unveil the Hrbek statue before their game against the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon, April 14.
The event will take place outside Gate 14 behind home plate, near the restaurant in the former first baseman's name — Hrbek's — that sits inside the ballpark.
Hrbek will become the seventh figure to be bronzed by the team since Target Field opened, joining Rod Carew,
Calvin Griffith, Carl and Eloise Pohlad, Tony Oliva, Kirby Puckett and Harmon Killebrew. The statues were designed by local artist Bill Mack.
The native of Bloomington and lifelong Minnesotan played his entire 14-year major league career with the Twins.
