Twins Sign Thome For 1 More Year
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins have reached terms to keep powerhouse slugger Jim Thome on the roster for one more year.
The Twins announced Thome will be back to hit them out of the park in 2011.
Thome joined the team in the 2010 season after nearly two decades in the Major Leagues, including stints with Cleveland and Chicago.
In his 2010 season with the Twins, Thome hit 25 home runs, surpassing the record set by, among others, Twins legend Harmon Killebrew. Thome also had 59 RBIs in his 108 games last season.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
